Default Can’t control passenger window from drivers side switch

Hi all! My name is Corinne, I just joined DF. I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 3500 24v. I’ve owned it for 4 months now and I’m finally coming around to be able to work on the “smaller” things.

I’m completely stumped on this issue though. Both of my power windows work, I can roll down my drivers window from the drivers side and I can roll down the passenger window from the passenger side. But I cannot roll the passenger window down from the drivers side. I’ve replaced the master switch, checked fuses, I can’t find where I’m losing power or WHY this is happening. Where was your go to to check where the issue might be if you’ve run into this issue?

Thank you!

The wires from the door, to the body, like to break. I would check the wire bundle in the drivers door, since the passenger window actually works otherwise. If you can read wiring diagrams, you can get them (and the whole factory service manual) from here.

Welcome to DF! Gonna move this to 2nd Gen ram section for ya.

Thank you!! I did check that area, the bottom plug wasn’t plugged in. Here’s to hopping once I finish connecting everything, it’ll work!

So it was that and a little bit of messed up wiring on the passenger side. The bottom wire harness in the driver side door to cab you mentioned was unplugged, which gives power to the passenger side. Then the previous owners, cut the wires for up/down on the passenger side and hooked up their own ground. It was a big mess! Lol but thankfully I got it all fixed now!!
