or have him pay the dealer to fix it. I like that idea more. I'm gonna start by rewiring the radio harness and putting a new harness for the map lights. I've read where that can cause the issue. After that... I really don't know what else it could be

as a side note, I noticed a wire for a radio choke relay in the radio harness. Do I need that to connect to my new radio somehow? Not even sure what it is

Basically, its a filter for the power line. Supposed to eliminate, or, at least, reduce, RF interference. (so you don't hear your ignition system, or alternator, thru your speakers. )

So do I need to hook it up to my new radio? I don't see a connection on the harness for the radio. Also the idiot that wired up the radio before this one ruined the factory clips. So I cant just put an adapter on

Filter should be on the switched power feed for the radio......
