What are the odds of suddenly developing a vacuum leak with your cruise control and having everything you need in the glovebox to fix it in about five minutes right before a holiday road trip? Apparently pretty good if you own a second gen ram.

Be prepared lol. My dad tells me this story about how his cousin used to drive 60s/50s mopar muscle cars/ Cars (still does). He knew the cats so well that when they would go on long road trips he would pack every tool and part that could break in the trunk.

How many people here remember carrying an extra ballast resistor wrapped in a paper towel in their tool box?

Second gen i carry a ignition coil, Had a Accel coil fail and left me stranded.

I want born yet but i do if i drive my 1st gens
First gen covers anything before 1993, My 1990 didn't have one. My 78 power wagon did before the MSD6A. Way back my 68 Charger the coil failed and i walked to a gas station(ones that repaired car and pumped gas) and one of the mechanics gave me a used one. Back on the road soon after . I think we should start a thread about how many times you ran out of gas. Happen to me more times than i liked to admit.

I ran out of gas more times then I can count lol, good thing I know how far I can drive on E lmao. When I first bought my 68 Charger I had one fail didn't know what it was and my dad showed me. When I said first gen I was referring to me 2 86s. In restoring the one and it has things I don't even know what they are. Maybe for the ac? I have no clue

I've got a Furd (Really, I had it for 4 days before I noticed the back window)

I bought it thinking it had a blown head gasket. A compression test is reading 138 to 150 psi. When I first got it, the engine code is N so I set the wires for an N code 5.0. It wouldn't start. I put it back like the previous owner had it like a P code 5.0. It has jumped time and I'm going to see if I can get the VIN off the bottom of the block.
