Default cranks - no spark - no codes - engine trouble lite on

2000 5.9 gas . shows milage on odometor but no codes . rpm's show on gauge . and im wondering if the fact that no codes are showing does that indicate computer issue ?
also , would a 2001 5.2 computer work in my truck ?

Does your scanner show pending codes? If so, that's where I found my code that pointed to a faulty crank sensor.

I would not suspect the PCM yet. If you get the "tach bounce" then it sees the crank signal and processes it. Check if there is power at the coil and if the ground side is properly switched by the PCM. You can use a simple test light for this.

A 2001 5.2 PCM should get the engine running but it won't be optimal.

ok thanx . i am getting the little tach bounce . one thing i realized today is i pulled the driver side wheel well liner out a few weeks ago because im replacing fender when get the time . in mean time i wrapped the wiring harness at the rear of that fenders wheel well in a plastic bag to protect but upon removing today found out that harness got a little wet and dirty . so am cleaning that in morning , and checking the ground like you said , thanx
