If you are still having issues with the trans temp light, not going into o/d, and various other oddities, but, it shifts fine thru the first three when unplugged, you still have an electrical problem. That's typical behavior for an electronics mismatch. What shape was the connector for the governor pressure sensor?

I don’t remember but I took the wiring harness out of my 99 transmission that worked perfectly until it over heated. (No I’m not having an overheating problem, I have a dedicated gauge and bigger trans cooler with thermostat)

I do believe there was a clip you needed from the old trans as well, else the solenoid doesn't mount properly....... Did you get that feller as well?

I used all of the hardware from my old transmission with a new solenoid and sensor.

That's correct, you don't have an overheating problem, however, the PCM of your truck thinks that you do, which is why it kicks off the O/D and turns on the trans temp light. Sounds like an incorrect sensor in the trans to me or some sort of electrical issue with the transmission electronics.

I’m not sure how that’s possible, I pulled all of the wiring for pressure out of my 99 trans. Unless there’s more stuff that’s different but used the same plug, the solenoid and pressure switch should be correct.

Did you install new sensors? Or transfer them from the old trans? Wouldn't be the first time a bad part came right out of the box.

brand new parts, I’ve been having lockup issues so I assumed it was the lockup solenoid

The wiring at the 8 pin connector can sometimes pull out, and you get exposed wires, that will short together..... But, if that isn't the problem, I would be very tempted to replace ALL the electronics in the trans (again...) Including the TCC and O/D solenoids.

do you know a good place to get the TCC and OD solenoid? I can’t seem to find it brand new, only renewed on eBay
