Unless extreme wheel travel (rockcrawling) is the goal, I think a moderate suspension lift plus body lift is a great compromise.

When I ran 37's on my Bronco w 5.8 (351W) I ran 5.38s. No joke. With overdrive it was just fine and I rarely drove more than 70mph for extended periods. OTOH I live at altitude and that makes a HUGE difference. Still, with 37s I'd go 4.56 absolute minimum unless your 2500 is a CTD, then you've got so much torque you may not need to re-gear at all.....
BDS does along with others

I think I may jack the truck up and confirm that the gearing is still stock. Maybe I got lucky and a previous owner has already changed the gearing. Its got aftermarket covers on the diffs but I doubt I would be that lucky. I don't necessarily need 37's , Id likely be satisfied with 35s but like I mentioned, Im trying to learn as much as possible so i can make an educated purchase. I did see the option to add long arms to the BDS kit . it wasn't a huge increase in price. This truck will likely never see a highway....most speeds here are 80km/h or 50mph for most members on here.

In regard to shocks , I see that most kits come with shocks. The BDS kit allows you to choose your own shocks which I was interested in because I've heard great things about Bilstein shocks, they are not over expensive and come in different models depending on the amount of suspension lift in the truck.

What size tires are on the truck now? Does the speedometer read correctly?

absolutely BALD BFG 315/70LT17 . Truthfully this truck sat for like 10 years in a driveway down the road from my house. It wasn't road worthy and still isn't. The truck needed a lot of work but I didn't pay a lot and it came with enough performance parts to justify the price if I decided the truck wasnt worth fixing. To my suprise, the frame was actually in excellent shape with only minimal rust. The body was rough. So far I've replaced both the cab and fenders with rust free southern parts. I will replace the box with a southern box when I find one that matches the cab to save me painting it. I have not driven it. I was just happy it ran after I swapped cabs. the truck came with a Mopar performance intake manifold and Ceramic coated headers. The headers are installed and I will be installing the new intake before too long. The truck also has a trans dapt throttle body spacer. When im done, I will have a 95% rust free truck. That is the plan anyway.

It's plenty tall for off roading. Why do you need another lift? Just better performance?

I would like it to sit this high, only level and without the body-lift. Or less of a body-lift. When I was doing the cab swap, a lot of things are streched to the limit. I also wouldn't mind replacing the rusty looking parts that are on the truck currently and make it better at the same time.

Lose the throttle body spacer, it doesn't do anything at all for you. They are designed to add 'swirl' to the airflow, to help keep fuel in suspension. However, as your truck is port injected, there is no fuel in the airflow, so, all the throttle body does is raise the throttle body up an inch, or however thick it is. More often than not, installing one on a port injected motor, COSTS you power, not adds it. Best case, it isn't doing anything at all.

Which performance intake do you have? Can you post pics?

2500's came with a variety of spring packs, depending on just what option packages were chosen. Have a look at the door sticker, and see what the GVAW rating is for the rear axle.

If it were mine, I'd ditch the extra blocks in the rear and run stock back there. Then ditch the body lift and get new +3 springs for the front and new control arms and track bar. Done.
