Where is the 3-4 solenoid? Is that the OD solenoid, I thought the OD solenoid was just what held the clutches in place

Need to have a look in there..... picking up a drain plug to install while you have the pan off wouldn't be a bad plan either.

@HeyYou , have you heard of other people having ad many problems as I’ve had? I’m pretty sure you’ve replied to my other transmission issues

Yep. The electronics on these can be really funny. I had some fun of my own on my 98.... Replacing the electronics solved most of it, but, it still likes to hold first gear awful long on occasion. I suspect a possible TPS issue..... (mine is aftermarket.... original went belly up....) But, haven't tested that theory yet. It's too intermittent.

I see, I’ve heard bits and pieces of wiring being bad on these trucks but I never expected issues like this. Granted I came from a Honda, so I was expecting it to function.

Do you have a scanner that can read live data?? Logging would be even better....

I have a wifi obdii scanner but I don’t know if it reads live trans data,

You are interested in governor pressure, and tps values..... See what both are doing when it doesn't wanna shift.
