Default Electric water pump

like this:

I am imagining the benefits would be approximately equivalent to how doing the e-fan upgrade felt. I really liked the e-fan upgrade.

says it's street worthy. Anybody have experience with e water pumps on the street?

They make some good stuff, but, that seems a pretty steep price for the improvement you get. Not to mention replacement cost when it fails.....

Suitable for street or drag strip use – 2400+ hour life expectancy
I have replaced more water pumps on my truck than any other vehicle i have ever owned combined. My last one failed in January and it was 8 years old. It outlasted the previous one (same brand) that was 5 years when it crapped out. Both lifetime warranties, And who is going to pay $530?

you can get upgraded to the "heavy duty" version which extends the life to 3000 hours for like 30 bucks. @ 70mph, that is 210,000 miles. Not that that is a super accurate calculation but 3k hours is quite a while.

But yeah a bit expensive for sure. And my truck also seems to like eating water pumps. Though what does one pay for the nicely done e-fan upgrade by the time you have the aftermarket aluminum shroud, the controller, the fans, etc? Maybe when I do a new timing chain I try one of these.

Anybody know why water pumps don't last very well in our trucks?

just the aluminum bracket with the tank holders is $200 I believe it's $500 with the two fans. My trucks never has had a premature water pump failure, but if I had the guess the Chinese parts. When I did replace my original one the new one had a lot of bearing play.

My last two pumps the bearings went, The first one has slop and noise but didn't leak. The second has a bit of slop and leaked. I want to take apart an original water pump and see what the bearings look like. It came off a motor i bought with 200K.

Am I the exception?… I got over 110k on the factory water pump, replaced it with a Gates water pump and now have 240k on my truck… the water pump is quiet, not leaking, and not loose, so it’s still got some miles left.
