Please help… Steering column mounting
Hi all, I have been working on a project, I dropped a 2001 1500 cab onto a 1994 3500 frame w/ the cummins 5 speed setup (had a rotten cab). Now putting it back together I am stumped on something, the 2 studs or bolts that hold the steering wheel inside the cab don’t seem to be centered like they should be, for the nut to sit evenly on the blue plastic piece. (Note: I did use all 1994 mounting brackets including the aluminum piece that the column bolts up to. Any ideas? Thank you so much. 🥱🤨
Notice the stud isn’t centered on the blue piece? When I tighten the nut and washer it hangs off and barely grabs.
These 2 mounting studs just don’t seem to be aligned properly.
I cannot pull the steering wheel back because the hole is about aligned. I removed the bolt to see what was going on.

Swap
So it’s a 1500 cab with all 3500 parts. Every mount, inside and out. Literally, I took a 1500 cab stripped it and swapped everything to the 1994. I have the bolt through where the column connects to the steering shaft in the engine bay. Just can’t get those darn 2 bolts to center. 94 steering column, aluminum mount that holds the column with the 2 bolts, and the steering shaft, all 94 parts in a 01 cab. Wondering if the steering column is a different length? Thanks again I’ve been out here for days trying to figure it out.

my studs are not centered and the washer takes up the rest of the space. Not to sure on the design of the whole thing but I can tell you 100% my studs are not centered but with the washer they look centered
