You get internet access during boot camp? Man when I went through all I got was letters! Good luck...where are you going for your schooling?

 

Wow, times HAVE changed!!!! We got mail almost everyday and got town pass/town liberty on our last weekend of basic. (I went home since my parents lived right off base and my father was a drill instructor, but not MY drill instructor)

The only people who had access to computers were the crypto guys working with codes........most everything else was done with keypunch machines and cards!!!!!

What branch are you in? I will be joining the army national gaurd here soon and hope to do basic over the summer so that i will be done with it before high schools over with. By the way how is it? is it as hard as it's cracked up to be?

 

Couldnt pay me enough to join up in this day and age... the only thing I would have gone in for was Marine REcon Snipe school... but, as big as I am, its too hard to hide someone 6'5" lol

 

man i just got out of the corps... and when i went to boot... good ole' Parris Island. the land where god forgot... all we got is letters... man we got shafted... we got one phone call.. and thats IF we got expert on the range (witch i did) i called to old lady... anyway... times have changed... you gotta be throuroghly inSAIN to go to recon snipe school... its just like boot all over again... no sir!!!!! corps said i was too smart to issue me a m-16.. they issued me a tool kit and said "build that bomb devildog!" so i got stuck and an aviation ordnance technician... weapons mechanic on f-18's 24volts 12volts... all the same to me!!!!! just kinda hard to find a job in the real world with the training i have now... there isnt a high demand for weapons tech's for american airlines rightnow LOL! anyway congrats on graduating.. whats your rate? what will your job be? thats always fun trying to figure out what uncle sam needs you to do for him

 

All we get is letters, but since we are bas-asses we get base liberty.It has been hard but you get used to it.

army... no offense.. life isnt hard there... ever been to hell? if not take I95 South and get off the Beufort SC exit.. thatll take you right into the godforsaken place called Parris Island. that is hell... also a nice little beutifull place called Iraq... that is hells cousin.. damnation...witch youll proly find yourself there eventually..goodluck
