It's not just auto repair. A few years ago, I was looking to get a double action revolver. I told the idiot at the gun counter I was looking for a double action pistol for the garage. He told me all pistols are semi-automatic. Somebody like that around loaded weapons scares me. Just like greasing brake pads.

I have a can of Disc Brake Quiet. You spray it on the back side of the pads, so they don't squeal. (as much, depending on pad compound, some are just noisy.....)
