Are all 360 magnums the same? Can I use any 360 parts? From like any year? Also does anyone know where to get parts? Half the time I'm sent to a junkyard just to find parts for my 98 ram.

Everything is the same other than the intakes. 98 and up has two coolant temp sensors where 97 down only had one.

You can read about the 360 magnum engine here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysl....9_L_Magnum_V8

There is a lot of parts that interchange, as the 5.9 engine was used in several Dodge (and Jeep) vehicles, such as:

5.9 Magnum Vehicle Applications
  • 1998-2003 Dodge Dakota.
  • 1992-2002 Dodge Ram.
  • 1992-2003 Dodge Ram Van & Wagon.
  • 1998-2003 Dodge Durango.
  • 1992-2001 Dodge Ramcharger.
  • 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited.

Backwards. 97 and down had two, 98 and up had one.

There are also some differences over the years. 94-95 had EGR, 96 and up did not, though, some 96 trucks had the provision for EGR, but, there was a block off plate instead. The center divider went away at some point as well.

There was also a change in how the engine was balanced in the 1990's. I'm not sure what year.

That was mentioned in the earlier supplied web link discussing the 360 engine at the end of the information noted here:

Although the pre-Magnum ('71-'92) and Magnum versions of the 360 cu in (5.9 L) are both externally balanced, the two are balanced differently (the 360 Magnum uses lighter pistons) and each requires a uniquely balanced damper, flywheel, drive plate, or torque converter. Bore and stroke size was 4 in × 3.58 in (101.6 mm × 90.9 mm); compression ratio was 9.1:1.

Up thru 95, the 5.9 magnum engine had a neutral balance flex-plate, and the balance weights were on the torque converter. (automatic transmissions...) 96 and up 5.9, the balance weights moved to the flex-plate, and the torque converter was neutral balance.

Thanks for adding that additional clarification.
