Engine Swap
I am getting ready to swap in my rebuilt cammed 360 into my 00 1500 second gen. I have a quick question about removing the TV cable. Is there a way to disconnect it WITHOUT throwing it all out of whack. The way the trans shifts rn is fine and I'd like to not fool with that cable as of yet. Especially with a new engine. I was thinking just taking the whole throttle body off and flopping it out of the way so the cables can all stay attached but don't know if that's possible. Any help? Also any pointers on getting these engines out is also welcome. Thanks
You will need to remove the TV, throttle and the cruise control cables as part of removing the engine. To remove the TV cable, take a screwdriver and push the cable's plastic connector off the throttle body (same for each of the other cables, too). Once the TV cable is removed from the throttle body, you can squeeze the plastic tabs that hold the TV cable into the throttle body bracket and remove the TV cable from the rear of the bracket. You can also find several videos on YouTube that show this process as well.

Procedure is in the service manual. Read thru it a couple times. It sounds complicated, but, in reality, its quick and easy. Having a second warm body helps make sure you get a proper adjustment.
(one on top, one underneath, making sure nothing moves.)

well everything seems to make sense when I read it over. I just don't know which clip has to come out to make the adjustment. Does the adjustment for sure have to be messed up when removing the cable?

No. If you don't pull the adjustment clip, nothing will change, and likely the cable will still be in a good spot for ya. Just need to disconnect it from the throttle linkage, then squeeze the ears to disengage from the bracket. String it up out of the way while you do your engine swap, then just reinstall the cable. Likely work just fine.
Quick hint: Remove the crank position sensor from the engine (right behind passenger side head) before removing the engine. Reinstall the sensor AFTER the new engine is in place. They are frequently victims of trans/motor swaps, and not inexpensive.

Useful information, I was thinking of swapping the engine on my old dodge. I'm also looking for a good quality radiator to replace. I live in Arizona and I need a stable working part, without overheating. Found Prestone Radiator Flush Review from https://casperoilchange.com/prestone...-flush-review/ worth a try
