Default They tried to steal my fuggin' truck!

1999 Ram 1500 SLT 5.9 4x4
Came out and my hood was popped up (Weird)
They went through the drivers door lock (flat head to the lock) broke out the ignition cylinder and took my deck. So i look around to check all the damage and see WHY the truck wasn't gone. Maybe someone interrupted them but i think they just weren't that good. aaanyways open the hood and the fuse block cover was removed. ( they had the right idea right?) Soooo i run to Autozone and get the new ignition switch and cylinder. When i put them in i get no power to gauge, wipers, lighters or ignition switch. When i plug in the small plug on the switch the ring light and chime is working but none of the other stuff is getting power.
When i first started messing with it the gauges would mildly flicker around when i moved the switch around with it plugged in but not bolted on. It came on 1 good time and i was able to start it from the wire near the battery like i assume they were trying to do. But after that 1 time now i get no power to that stuff. dome lights, blinkers, hazards, brake lights all that **** is working but... having a bit of trouble with this one here! Thanks in advance!!

I would start by checking power with a test light or power probe to the fuse box on the inside of truck. And also check around the driver side hood hinge, You should have some wires there and one of them maybe a fusible link.

Yikes, sorry! This area is getting 3rd world full-blown **** hole status. That's how they got in mine in 2016 just a simple screw driver.

I'm no help with electrical issues but I hope you can get fixed. Glad they didn't take it.

I get these suggestions on my phone on articles I might like. I seen one the other day that is pretty neat, unsure on how it would work though. You put a little dongle on your key ring and install a module behind your ignition that has to read that dongle or the truck won't start. I have something similar for my alarm system.
