Pretty sure the output shaft size is different and I think they’re either a bit longer or shorter, can’t remember, but no I don’t think that’s a go

Just find the correct t-case, and replace it. There are so many little differences between manufacturers, that it is pretty much impossible to say for sure if something will 'work' or not.

If you fire up your search-fu on the interwebs I had found info on casting numbers on this very thing. But nothing about trying from a different make like GM.

If you do find one note even though it looks like a square bolt pattern it's not. It'll only bolt on one way to keep the oiling groove at the bottom.

These entire 'cases are now stupid expensive in either LD or HD trim, so if you find an entire DHD inexpensively buy it, but more likely you'll be forced to just source the slip shaft housing

Have you noted if the snap ring is still in place on the rear output?? You can see it once the slip shaft housing is removed

This is what I was thinking of, but it's actually only applicable to the LD's
https://mopar1973man.com/topic/5520-...n-housing-fun/

Still, some great tech on that site for the HD's, too, if you search

I forgot the HD's have the big snap ring you also have to spread just to remove the extension housing. LD's just unbolt and slide off
