Default 99 Ram 1500 5.2L - Mode 6 Readings with a p0420

2nd Gen Hive Mind,

My Google Fu appears to be inadequate on this one.

As subject states, CEL lit with a p0420. With my daughter's 2000 Honda Civic, I was able to pull up the Mode 6 data via BlueDriver, and it pointed to a specific issue with the downstream O2 sensor. However, with my Ram, it doesn't give much enlightening data:

Anybody have any idea what these "manufacturer defined tests" are, in this case?

Could be any number of things, from exhaust leaks, to a failed cat, to a bad sensor.

Yup. Not disputing that.

Any idea regarding the description of the Mode 6 Test IDs that are failing?

I'm curious, too. If you do figure it out please let us know. I've posted here before wanting to see misfire counts and it's nearly impossible. Codes, sure. Counts, not so much. I mention only because it relates to Mode 6

I'm surprised you're getting a 420/430. I used to service a '98 with the post cat O2 hanging in the wind and it didn't trip the money light.

VERY interesting indeed. Test ID 11 deals with the upstream O2 sensor half cycle. Test ID 21 deals with O2 sensor switching frequency.

My inner tech nerd is satisfied for today. Many thanks, sir for this.
