I try to keep my truck running right and decent looking. My dash is so bad, I couldn't even glue a dash cap on. I had to use screws. It came out okay, but if you look close, it's a jack leg repair. I definitely don't like going back in to fix something I could have taken care of the first time.

To Rlynnday: You are absolutely right. This is an extra vehicle purchased from my daughter & son-in-law for way less than market value and needing repairs (see my first post under non-technical dated first part of March 2022 for the sordid details). I bought it because s-i-l wanted to sell it and I could use it, and I can afford to insure/fuel/maintain it better than he can.

All the work that has been done so far has brought it to being reliable to drive, well, until the transmission needs rebuilding, and maybe to MV with the dash top yet to be installed -- how much is that worth? When the shop gave the estimate for the AC repair, Wife didn't balk because the vehicle is practically worthless around here with out functioning AC. Wife wants to get it painted, headliner replaced/recovered and new carpet (power steering fluid-soaked from leaking bottles used to replenish leaking hoses). I have no idea how much painting would be and very likely not be recovered upon sale. After all, you don't buy a vehicle as an investment as you would stocks, it is a tool to be used and maybe enjoyed while being used.

I'm retired, Wife says I have a new hobby. I don't know about that but I do intend to get "my money's worth" out of it until A) I have no business driving, or B) some distracted-driving idiot deprives me of it.

Got new LMC dash pad and bezel installed 7/10, see "dash skins" entry.
Replaced OEM headlight assemblies on 7/4, Sylvania SilverStar bulbs on 7/5. Left one's seal around lens had separated, it had water on the inside of the lens and the shiny stuff was coming off the reflector. Bought from 1AAuto, excellent quality for OEM replacements, but if you're looking for a beam pattern similar to newer vehicles, you need to look at something else. "While I was at it," I ordered a pair for the Wife's Civic, put those on today.
