Just keeping those updated on my progress of the truck. After the amount of time under the hood, you would think I would know the battery but NOPE, its not a marine battery but just a normal battery. lol. I'm getting a new one this coming weekend. I'm replacing the oil switch/sensor this weekend. It takes a extended drive to see if that cures the check gauges light. Even though I drive it probably around 8 miles to work. The light never started to I ran maybe another 3 to 4 miles then that which I find odd.

Transmission still seems like it doing some odd shifting but I'm thinking its due to the TV cable not being in the right position but I'm still trying to solve that. I have watched a few videos but there isn't really much on showing if that center part where the wire comes out has to be even with the square of the cable or just adjust the cable to where it is suppose to go and let that part set where it falls? I will take a picture later today and post it to show what I mean. It has been doing actually a lot better. Maybe I may not have to rebuild it anytime soon? I mean it went from slipping to now shifting ok. meaning some odd delays or down shifting like your stepping on the gas to pass someone. I mean while getting up to speed it will shift then down shift but level back and shift smooth. If that make any sense? I don't explain things to well.

Dash has been on hold due simply cost. I also noticed the one that is my color is on back order at LMC so who knows when they will get another shipment? I also know I need to roll the dash forward to fix the issue of it only blows through the defroster. I'm sure a line is bad and needs to be addressed. I just have to be careful due to the dash already has damage I need to fix and its very brittle. I'm going to have to do some jerry rigging to make the new dash work. it's has a couple of broken out spots on the very top where the control sits and above the center vents.
Its' a lot to read but then I have a lot to do. lol.

I had shifting issues with my newly rebuilt 46RE transmission. I ended up replacing the TV cable with a new one, as the old, original TV cable seemed to bind up from time to time. After I replaced the TV cable, it resolved my shifting issues.

That might not be a bad idea. I have adjusted it a few times and it does help some but I'm not sure if maybe I'm not doing it right or maybe there may be a issue with the cable? It seems to be 1st and 2nd but more 2nd seems to not want to shift until maybe over 2500 rpms or I let off the gas but it will also kick down like I am trying to pass someone which makes no sense to me. I'm really starting to believe this issue is from the cable.

Hell I replaced the oil sensor today and even on a cold start it goes up to around 40 psi. before when it was cold, the pressure would go high then drop down to this amount when the motor warms up. Does that seem normal? I'm just curious.

I had weird issues with my TV cable and given that it was over 25 years old, I decided to replace it. I believe the old one had rust and debris that had gotten inside of it and caused it to bind periodically.

As for the oil pressure sensor, its best to put a mechanical gauge on it to really tell what your oil pressure is doing, as the stock factory setup is not known for its pin-point accuracy.

I have been checking the internet for a new cable and see what the cost would be but not a whole lot of luck at what I have seen so far.

I didn't expect it to go to what would be it's normal psi when warm. Normally it starts high then slowly drops to around 40psi. I'm not sure how to do a manual without throwing codes? I know it's been a long time since even used manual gauges. I will try and see if I can do it this weekend.

Computer doesn't care about oil pressure. The gauge cluster does though, and it will ding at you if the in-dash gauge stays at zero with the key on....

Download the parts manual for your truck and lookup the part number for the TV cable in your truck here - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...s-manuals.html

The other option is to call a Dodge parts counter and ask them for a TV cable for your year/model truck. They will likely have to order it and you can politely ask them for the part number for it.
