Question on cabs
I recently purchased a 96 2500 2 door ext(club) cab. Will a 2 door with the rear half doors Cab from a 99 truck fit as a direct replacement? Or do I need to find an ext cab with just 2 doors. Sorry if this seems like a stupid question it’s my first dodge ever so have no idea about them.
thanks I’m advance

doors from a Regular Cab and a 2 door extend cab interchange, doors from the quad cab only interchange with quad cabs, quad cab being the 2 door with the suicide doors
just for the information doors from a 98+ will have a different wiring harness if your truck has say power mirrors or the infinity sound system, nothing that can't be swapped out though either using the newer style mirrors or swapping the door wiring harness, both are very easy to do

Thank you for that info what about the cab itself I need to do a whole cab swap the floors are completely gone on mine and I’m curious if I can replace my 2 door extended cab cab with a quad cab 2 door with suicided door cab. Or are the cabs different lengths or mount to the frame different. I see a lot more of the cabs with the suicide doors for sale then the 2 door extended cab.

However, once you start swapping cabs you'll start running to the same wiring deals, the easier option would be using the 96 dash and wiring in the 98+ cab, but if you desire the 98+ dash then you may get into some wiring gremlins, if you stayed with a 98 cab things will probably swap easier the the 99+ cab, but again I'm not familiar with doing that level of swap

A lot changed in the 98 model year. Including the floor of the cab, where the seatbelts mounted, and how the dash gauges got their information. The cab may physically bolt to your frame, but, you will have to change just about everything under the hood to make it compatible with the newer dash.
