and dodgetruck 2 it is a 95 dodge ram 1500 reg cap short bed that came with the 5.2 magnum and automatic trans. its all been swapped and ****ed with many times. Not even a magnum anymore and im pulling out the auto trans tomorrow

 

I guess not, I've never seen one before, also seen maybe two ORE's in my life in person, so just assumed thats where they fit in lol

should be fun it sounds like, I guess I brainfarted when you said mopar 360 just assumed a 5.2 to 5.9 magnum swap, but your going old school 360 I take it?

 

http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html best gear ratio calculator I've found. I tend to lean more towards 4.56 or 4.88 gears. Depends on the speed you want to run and tire size.

 

There is such a thing as having too much gear though... My truck is a fine example. 4.56 gears, and 33" tires, just suck on the freeway.... and if you are pulling something with O/D off? 55 is actually faster than you really want to go, else the engine is screaming.

 

Yes i am swapping a 360 mopar motor into it the old style. ill probably go with 4.10 gears

 

4.10 will pull, no doubt about that. Not much use on the highway though. You run out of wind really quick. Keep in mind matching the gears, you really don't quite. If you have a chain driven transfer case, the front will be slightly lower than the rear. My '96 has 3.55 in back but 3.54 in front. This keeps the chain tight and not over running.

 

4.10's and 33's are pretty close to what the truck was like stock from the factory. (3.55's, and probably 245's, or 265's.)

 

4.10s and 33" tires work extremely well, especially when used with the 46RE transmission with overdrive. At 80 MPH, the engine's turning a bit over 2500 RPM in overdrive. If you're running a 727 or 904 transmission with your motor, you will notice the engine RPMs being higher without the overdrive assistance.
