At a steady throttle it stays steady. I was watching while driving with the tps percentage and volts, tcc, brake pedal output, and the 3-4 output displayed simultaneously everything seemed steady throughout but I probably should have a passenger watch so they can constantly stare at it. While driving for obvious reasons I couldn't.
I can only view one graph at a time so I took turns on those.

Check the 8 pin connector down at the trans, make sure it is plugged in good, and the wires aren't pulling out of the connector.

Well I checked and cleaned all connections. The TV cable was a little loose so I went to adjust it and found that I have only 2 strands of my throttle cable left so I ordered a new one and will install it and report back

I had a binding TV cable that was causing me to have transmission shifting issues after I had my 46RE transmission rebuilt. After I replaced the TV cable, it cured my shifting issues..

Well after replacing the throttle and adjusting the TV cable still had the same problem. So I went to O'Reilly and got a torque converter. It fixed my problems but was extremely loud like it has bad bearings. Yes I did fill it before I installed it. Called them to exchange it and found out I got the last one. They can't get another one. I can only return it. The other parts stores can't get it either. So ordering one online I have another question. Any brands to avoid? Should I go with a higher stall? I use the truck to tow trailers and haul lumber and tools. It is very much a work truck. The truck is pretty much stock just basic upgrades being the throttle body, a Cai, and an accel coil with good plugs and 8mm wires. Would it help or hurt to got higher stall

When I rebuilt my transmission last year, I went with these folks for my replacement torque converter - https://gopnh.com/
Since I use my truck for hauling and towing, I went with their recommendation to go with a slightly lower stall speed, especially since I have 4.10 gearing to help get the truck moving down low.

You can only fill about half of the converter unless the stand the transmission up when you install it. Did you put it in neutral and let it run for bit so fluid can fill the converter?

Sorry for the delayed reply I was waiting on shipping. Finally got the new torque converter delivered and installed its running great now and the rpm surge is gone!
I always prefill the torque converter and let it idle to make sure. Then I run it thru the gears several times. I do that everything I drain the transmission and fill it tho.
Thank you for all your help!

If I let off the throttle when I see the bump it doesnt do it. And it also doesn't do it all the time. It does it with or without tow haul on.
So far I have replaced the tps, all transmission solenoids, iac, checked the band adjustment in the trans. I also watched the scanner graph and it doesn't seem like there is a signal coming from the brake switch telling the pcm to unlock it.
It doesn't feel like a slip. My initial thought was the torque converter was briefly unlocking.
I'm kinda scratching my head right now. I don't want to cause damage by driving it but I need it for work. And even my local shop didn't have any ideas past what has already been done. The transmission and torque converter have about 25k on them. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Just curious, i know you resolved this but what year and model was this problem on? Having the same type of issue on an 2018 ram 2500 gas.
