Weird Grinding noise after bumps
So I am new here and I was hoping to get help from someone who knows more about this damn truck than I do lol. I will try to be as descriptive as possible because a few things happened before my issue started and I don't know if any of them caused my issue.
So a few weeks ago I was replacing my passenger side U-Joint while doing so the front axle outer stub broke on one of the loops the u-joint fits into so I ordered a new one. I do not know what the other part is called that connects to the u-joint but it seemed the metal was kind of warped so I took my grinder and ever so lightly grinded the warp out so the u-joint would fit correctly. so that is incident number 1. Incident number 2 is while the brake caliper was off I moved the front of my truck out of the garage while I waited for the front axle outer stub to arrive and in doing so I put it in Neutral and my brother was behind me with my dad to push the truck so it could stop after it got out. Well that didn't go as planned so Instinctively I put the brakes on and it did nothing since the caliper was not on I put the e brake on and that did nothing so I popped it into park and that also did nothing besides make a horrible sound lol. my mailbox eventually stopped me. Now fast forward to today now everything is back together and when I drive and hit any kind of bump or half assed filled pot hole it makes a loud grinding noise that sounds and feels like from under the diver/passenger feet area. kind of sounds like the sound you get when driving on those cutouts that are on the side of the freeway to let you know you have drifted out of your lane. anyone know of anything that can sound like that or what is causing this noise. I checked transmission fluid it was low but not dry and I added more in and it still makes the noise. I am also having power steering issues I don't know if that can be related or not. Also today I replaced the timing chain and gears and water pump just incase yall think its any of those. Thanks in advance for anyone who responds or try's to help.

Those grinding etc sounds are "fun" to trace down. What makes it difficult is that even though you hear it from there, source might be quite the opposite direction. Like my ex was on a road trip, and said that her car is making weird noise when she brakes and it's clearly coming from the front. I told her to check the brakes, and there were nothing wrong. So she drived home, and when I went to look the car I saw from the distance that rear brake disc had taken some heat, meaning the caliper had seized piston. Took a test drive for fun, and even though I knew the source of the noise was at the rear, I still heard it from the RH front.
Anyway, start by double checking everything you've touched when you were working on front axle. And look for signs of wear on parts. Could be splash shield, inner fender...check the fan that it's not touching the shroud.
