Default '01Ram P/U Quarter Window

The plastic thingie that goes through the quarter window glass from the outside that the Latch hooks to is broken. I went to the dealer and it doesn't show up on the drawing of the Latch. We couldn't tell if the plastic thing comes with the latch.. Called a auto glass shop, they told me to go to the dealer or junk yard. I did some research and found the the Latch is used on a lot of models and years. I couldn't find anything about the part that goes through the window. Help please. Thanks in advance!

Check the junk yards near you, see if they have something for you. Either that, or car-part.com, see who has what you need, and call them. The emails don't always work so well.

Look at the parts breakdown, There are a few part #'s associated with it. 46734.52 is for the latch but i don't know if it comes with what you need.

Sorry I didn't answer sooner. I went to the "Stealer" and the part i need isn't available (not even listed). I called some wrecking yards and was told the only way I could get the plastic thingie I need is to buy a window For $70.00! I'm going to measure the part and go to a "pick-a-part" yard and see if I can get it off of some other vehicle. Thanks for the input.

I've got a '96 donor here. You need the screw and any associated bushings/spacers that pass thru the glass? If you want me to ship to you we can explore that.

Also I'm not positive if the glass is identical from the no-doors ('97 and earlier?) to the rear suicide doors ('98+?) ?

Point being I can't swear my stuff from a '96 will work for the later models.

I will measure the Bushing (thingie) on my '01. Then if you could measure the part on your truck to make sure it is what I need. Do you want to sell the bushings off both sides? That way I will have a spare. How much do you want for it (them)?

Major dia (head): .815"
Dia thru glass: .480"
Length of feature (it's a weird 4 spline) that is captured in latch: .185"
OAL: .470"

Screw is good ol' 1/4-20

In the pics the left is just the screw:

Also for anyone in the future, there's no reason I see you couldn't whip this up on a lathe from Al (or steel if you wanted). The factory one appears to be Al

You don't HAVE TO have the weird splines in the latch, you could just stuff a pure round in there and snug the screw. The diameter of this feature (inside the latch) is .340" not including the splines. The splines are kind of a luxury like the square under a carriage bolt head
