Trying to track down a V-10 throttle cable for my truck. The dealer says the cable for 5.9 works . But every time you give it gas it pops off the throttle body. If anyone can help please let me know. Greatly appreicate it . Thank you so much!

I take it that you're looking for the accelerator cable - if so, part number 53031626AC should do it for you - it's widely available via the web if you Google the part number.

You can also double-check this by either downloading the parts manual for your year truck via this link - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...s-manuals.html - and look up the part/part number you're looking for in the parts manual or call a local Dodge parts department and ask them for the price and part number for the part you need.

the oart number is for the 5 9 liter the plastic ends won't connect on the v-10 engine. I have ordered 2 different ones neither of them will stay connected to the throttle body. The one For the V-10 is a medal peice that connects to throttle body

As I mentioned, either download the parts manual for your year truck (you did not specify any information about the year, make and model of your truck previously) via this link - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...s-manuals.html - and look up the part/part number you're looking for in the parts manual by searching for "cable, accelerator control" and find the part number for the 8.0L engine or call a local Dodge parts department and ask them for the price and part number for the part you need. For the 1996 model year, the part number appears to be 53031501, which is no longer available. It may be superseded by a newer part number and the dealer can tell you that with specific information about your truck. Good luck in your search.

As I recall, the throttle cable goes to an intermediate linkage, with another arm that goes to the throttle body itself. Do you need the cable from pedal to intermediate, or the arm from intermediate to throttle body?

I need the cable that attaches to the foot feet through fire wall and to the motor that makes the vehicle go.

Year does matter, as things changed over time. Don't know if the throttle cable was one of 'em, but, it could be..... and looking at part numbers, yep, it changed...... right around 98.
