Ok well it looks like I will be pulling it apart and taking off the Teflon tape and just put it back
Dam I wish I would have thought about that

Don't bother, You can check if it's getting a good ground by using a meter. And the sealant on the factory style ones is a dry sealant that does the same thing as the others. It fits in there tight enough it will make a good ground. I have never had an issue with grounds on pipe threads no matter what sealant i used. Using no sealant will cause it to leak.
