Default Automatic transmission no gears

I have a 1996 dodge ram 1500 5.9L v8 4x4 automatic transmission so Today I was driving my truck on the highway all of a sudden truck lost all gears like it went into neutral no noise no bangs grinding or anything I stopped and tried to put in a different gear and nothing no gears at all it doesn't make any noise when I give it gas shifter linkage still connected everything all together just all of a sudden I had no gears anyone know what could cause this issue trans fluid clean I replaced filter maybe 400 k ago fluid was clean when I changed it I used atf 4 the recommended fluid put a bottle of Lucas in there as well to help it I'm at a loss not sure what happen I don't have a code reader and I can't afford to bring my truck in I'm going to be swaping it out for a 5 speed soon if I can't figure out this automatic crap

Unplug the 8 pin connector on the trans, about halfway back, on the drivers side. See if you have any gears. Keep in mind, you won't have ANY automatic function at all, and no TCC or O/D. You will have to shift manually.
