Default Dual exhaust questions

I've got a 97 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2 and I'm wanting to run true duals with an x pipe before a dual in dual out flowmaster 44 that way I can get the sound and the little power gain, but I'm wondering if the power gain is even worth it? Or should I save money and run a single in dual out muffler?

If you have an X pipe it's really not going to make that much difference so just run two mufflers.

You won't really notice a difference.

I'm just wondering if I run an x pipe into a dual in dual out muffler, am I going to regret not running the x pipe into separate mufflers? As far as sound and torque go atleast

If you are using a dual in/dual out muffler, the x pipe isn't necessary. I doubt you would notice a difference either way. Another option would be 3" back to a single in/dual out muffler. A bit less pipe to run/pay for, but still good tone/power. If you still have the stock manifolds on there though, and the stock cat, then none of it will make any difference.Only sound.
