Default 46RE Experts- P0753 and P1765 codes?

2000 Ram 2500 with 46RE, complete rebuild 4 yrs ago.
Trans had been slipping a bit recently- then yesterday noticed that there's no 4th/OD shift, and feels like it's lost 1st as well- running in 2nd & 3rd gears only.
I have a slow drip from a tranny pan drain I installed where the gasket didn't completely seal, been too lazy to drain and pull the pan (shame on me) and re-seal- found it about 1-1/2 qts low.

I'm getting a P0753 "Shift Solenoid A Electrical", and P1765 #D1- which I think is the PCM detecting a bad solenoid as well?

Fairly "handy" at wrenching on this truck- but I've never worked on the tranny.
Is the shift solenoid definitely the issue here- and is this a DIY, or should I just take it to the shop?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would be looking at the 1765 first. If the trans isn't getting power, nothin' is gonna work right.

Simply being low on fluid could cause the 0753.... Might try resetting codes, see what comes back.

Spot on, boss.
The 0753 no longer presents,
P1765 #D1 TRANS 12V SUPPLY RELAY CTRL CIRC

I'm afraid to ask- could this be as simple as the transmission relay in the power distribution center, or should I start somewhere else?

See if you are getting power down to the trans. I suspect unless you have a second warm body, you will need to leave the engine running..... as I think the PCM will turn off power to the trans after about three seconds, if it doesn't see the engine turning.

Thanks again.
I'm looking at an '01 Service Manual, wiring under Transmission Control System and none of it makes sense to me.
What wires am I looking for that provide power to the solenoids?
This looks like it can be fairly technical to troubleshoot, time for the shop?

Grab the service manual for your truck from here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W. There is one 12 volt feed for the various solenoids, that is powered by the trans relay.

Checked Pin 86 at the relay, no voltage with key "off", and only .10-.15 volts with the key "on".
Should I have full battery voltage there?
No voltage to the connector/harness at the trans. Also swapped out relay at the PDC and confirmed relay is good.

I've read to check pin 85, I'd need to take it to the shop so the relay can be commanded by a scan tool.
Likely PCM?

Pin 86 appears to get its power directly from the alternator... Dark blue wire. No fuses involved... which strikes me as odd... but hey, I am not the engineer that designed.

If you are not getting power there, ignition on, you would at least part of your problem.
