Hooked up obd code reader and seems to be none showing up

It is capable of doing so but showing none on there.. which I feel like there should be something

The computer is kinda stupid.... and for some sensors, it really doesn't know if what it is getting is correct, so, it just 'assumes'.....

You get the initial fuel pump prime, but, does the pump run for a few seconds after cranking as well?

No I dont believe I hear the fuel pump still after cranking

would the computer lose codes if my battery wasn't connected for a couple weeks?

Sounds like a bad crank sensor.

And yep, disconnect the battery, PCM forgets everything it knew about running your engine. Including codes.

You can also fully charge up the battery, re-connect it to the truck and try starting it again. It should generate a code that the code reader should display to help you to further pinpoint your issue.

Do all obd code reader have that capability, I was using Zurich 8s I believe. I tried cranking with obd hooked up but didn't give me any codes

Not every fault will set a code. That's what keeps troubleshooting interesting.

See if you have spark while cranking.
