I have 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.9... having a crank no start issue .. my fuel pump is good but curious to know if while cranking the motor is it normal for the check engine light to be on ?? If not does anyone know what that may mean ... I never noticed it before I know but I also never paid attention... Also have noticed the truck seems to sound a little different like a winding noise when it's cranking but also never paid attention before cause it had always started
Have you hooked up an OBD2 scanner to check for any stored or pending trouble codes? If not, the codes should help to identify the issue. When I experienced that issue a while ago, it was a bad crank sensor and the code I pulled pointed to that being the issue.
I'm only getting 1.6 volts to my injectors, is that low and if so what would be cause
You will only see voltage at the injectors for about 3 seconds after initial key on, and then if the PCM sees the engine turning. That said, injectors want 12 volts.
As I'm cranki g only getting 1.6, then does that mean pcm is not worki g
The asd relay supplies positive power(battery +) to the coil,02 sensors and the injectors. You should have power there while cranking, If not the asd relay might be bad or not coming on.
