So the 96 Ram 2500 V10 is back up and functioning properly! Took the advice of the fantastic people that are on this forum and now headlights/turn signals all work!
Order the new wiring harness from LMC Trucks.com $30 and a new headlight switch $78. You have to cut out the old headlight switch plug and splice the new one in. Trust me, its worth it. Look at my old one.(photo attached). It actually melted the connectors. The dash used to smoke when I would turn on the headlights! The new harness was easy to install just unplug the headlights, plug in the new blue harness plugs, clean up two bolt holes for each headlight ground. Make sure and sand all paint off for good ground. Then plug in the new relays to the white plugs and hook both red wires to the positive side of the battery.
As far as splicing in the new headlight switch plug. Get a pair of wire cutters/strippers, cut one wire at a time off the old plug and match it to the corresponding color on the new plug. I used buttconnectors/shrink wrap, plus I used dielectric grease on every plug and wire connector. I live on an island in a rain forest, things corrode easy!
The turn signals had a blown fuse. The turn signals are operated by a round fuse in the fuse panel on the driverside dash. Open the diverside door and you will see the plastic door that says fuses. There are 2 round fuses. The top one operates the hazard flashers and the bottom operates the turn signals, they are the same fuses. In my case my hazards worked and my turn signals did not. So I removed the hazard fuse and installed it into the turn signal fuse port and the turn signals worked. Simple fix! $10 @ O'reillys. 96 Ram 2500 V10 fuse panel driverside dash. Top round fuse works the hazards and the bottom one works the turn signals. Super simple fix!
Thanks HEYYOU! I can see @ night now and my turn signals work! Nothing like roll n the wind down when its 5 degrees out to use hand signals! Fantastic advice! 96 dodge ram 2500 V10 headlight switch plug. 2 or 3 of the connectors are melted
