Overheating new radiator and thermostat
Was having issues with my truck overheating so I replaced my radiator. (Needed to be replaced when I bought the truck) was going good then my dash would beep at me and say check gauges and it was overheating. Replaced thermostat. Brand new. Sealed with rtv. Took it for a test drive and overheated worse than ever. Was thinking thermostat was getting stuck and don't think I put the hose far enough down. Fixed all that. Took it for a test drive. Overheated so bad the hose didn't bust off but I lost just about all of my coolant. Thinking it's the water pump but I'm a newbie and like to learn so if y'all can help I would be forever grateful!
Might not have fully filed the cooling system, the thermostat is installed upside down and/or the thermostat is bad right out of the box. If you have a laser non-touch temperature gun like the one in the link below, you can check the temperature at various point to see what's going on - https://www.harborfreight.com/121-in...ter-63985.html
Stock temp is 195, so, your temps should be in that neighborhood. If the engine is hot, but, the radiator is cold, bad thermostat. Could also be a blown headgasket.... What's your oil look like?
Oil looks fine. I don't know what to do it keeps overheating and there's pressure in my radiator hose. It's "spraying" out by the thermostat housing i think it what it's called. I'm going to try and upload a video.

Hope you stopped driving the truck as soon as you noticed the busted heater hose. If not, you could have seriously overheated the motor and possibly hurt the head gaskets or worse.
Check the thermostat housing to ensure that it's properly seated/sealed at the base where the thermostat sets. The thermostat housing also tends to rust over time, so it may need to be replaced (small hole in it). Also, check your bypass hose that comes off the front of the intake manifold and connects to the water pump. The hose may be cracked or the clamps aren't tight causing a leak in that area.
