Question Does the brake light switch control anything other than brake lights?

I just noticed that I have a brake light switch that loves to stick on. I plan to replace it shortly, but was curious as to what other things the brake light switch ties into. Does it control or provide input to anything other than the brake lights, ABS, etc? If anyone knows, I'd love to hear about it.

Cruise control. I *think* there is only one switch, but, there might be two.....

Aside from that, don't think there is anything else.

Good points and thanks! Also curious as to whether or not the PCM uses the brake light switch signal for anything? ABS perhaps or not?

Cruise and ABS are pretty much controlled by the PCM, so, I suspect that there is a trigger wire going to the PCM from the brake switch, for just such a purpose.... The 4WAL systems might have a direct connection.... but, I don't think the RWAL systems do.

There are two switches, normally open for brake lights and normally closed for cruise control.

Hi do you have idea where I can find this exact brake light switch? I’m having a real hard time finding the correct one with the proper connections.
my rear light is stuck on and my rear blinker works. Left rear brake light flutters barrily and no left blinker. I suspect maybe a ground issue too. But I’m trying to go ahead and replace the brake light blinker but I fear I will have to modify some parts to get it work. Any suggestions?

Any idea where to find replacement

Brake light switch in 1986 dodge b250 v8 5.9. With the tow package.

I believe your truck is a 1st gen Dodge and the question should be posted there, however, I believe the brake light switch is located behind the brake pedal arm, The switch comes into contact with the brake pedal arm to control the brake lights. If the truck has cruise control, try Standard Motor Products SLS77. Without cruise control, check out Wells Vehicle Electronics 1S4981. Both can be found via RockAuto.com.
