Default 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Laramie 5.9L

Hey guys I got a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 with a leveling kit on the front and air bags in the back. My air bags are rotten like crazy and I was curious if de-bagging the rear would be a good cheaper option. Obviously the rear will need to be level with the front. Also not doing the work myself. Just looking for something to tell my mechanic. Don't have the tools or area to do it myself otherwise I would.

I would just remove the bags, and call it a day. Unless you do heavy hauling/towing??

Welcome to DF! Moving this to 2nd gen Ram section for ya.

Ill tow a boat and an occasional trailer because my friends are always hitting me up to help them move. Is there anything specific I should look for to replace my bags? Would you say its a cheaper option then replacing bags?

What do you have in there now? Any kind of air compressor, or things of that sort?

Depending on weight.... generally, just a weight distributing hitch is adequate to the task..... Yes, putting weight in the bed WILL make it squat, but, that's what it is supposed to do. It's also why they come with a bit of a rake from the factory.....
