Default Seat compatability (belt on B pillar vs seat shoulder)

I'm sure this has been answered, but I couldn't find it. The seats in my 98 3500 are thrashed. I've located a set of very nice looking used 2nd gen seats. I read through as many threads here as I could find but still confused about compatability / how much / mods to swap the seats. I've read that within Gen 2 '98 forward has a different mounting system and I'm told these prospective seats are from a 98. My truck has the seat belt on the B pillar. These donor seats have the belt integrated into the shoulder. See the photos. Does that make this a no-go? Is the seller of these donor seats wrong about their vintage?

I would look at the mounts for the seats as well, I suspect they will be different....

I wonder does the floor has more rigid mounting on the later models, as in collision all the force is on the seat mount, whereas on older models forces are distributed also to the b-pilar.

I would expect there is a bit more reinforcement on the newer trucks.... even if it's just larger backing plates for the mounts....

I would love to know, too. I want to put an extra cab seat in our regular cab solely because you can get the Dorman replacement lower cushions for the extra cabs.

I looked at trying to get the lower cushion out of our regular cab but it's seriously integrated - like Borg you-will-be-assimilated level of integration.

I'm shocked Dodge constructed the seats for the 2 cab styles sooooooo differently.

It seems that 98 and after had the seat through design and before had the b pillar. Yours may be an early 98 where they still where using the b pillar ones. In my opinion the b pillar seats look more comfortable(and generally better looking) than the ones with the belt in the seat.

I believe the regular cabs still used the b pillar, ive been fighting the same issue looking for seats for my 98 Reg cab. Sadly mine weren't terribly trashed but I bought new seat covers/cushions only to discover they were wrong on installation. Of course the old ones got destroyed on removal floor mounts are also different for a regular cab, Not sure yet how they could be converted. I picked up a set of quad cab seats with integrated belt and there are some drastic differences

looking at my 96 i dont see major differences there so possibly seats from a 94-97 regular cab would work, but they're a different seat design, (more comfortable though in my opinion) than what would be correct for a 98
