Currently I'm not getting any power to the lift pump connection. What I've come across so far, is that the lift pump goes directly to the ecm (no fuses or relays) and that I should be checking pins 15 and 35 (both yellow/white) at the ecm for power. Now for the weird part, everything I could find shows the singular plug that goes to the ecm.
My ECM has 3 plugs though and only 31 ports on each plug. I can't find any diagrams for this type of ECM and have no yellow/white lines going to those 3 plugs at all.
Any pinouts/insight/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I should also add that im planning to add a relay to the circuit in the future (as advised by other forums) but currently my main focus is to get it running first.
Looking at the service manuals, they don't talk about an electric in-tank lift pump.... says its on the side of the engine, and purely mechanical..... Both 98 and 2000 manuals say the same. Which is confusing.... as I thought there was indeed an electric in-tank pump for the 24V..... I don't find anything for a lift pump in the wiring diagrams either....

Let this be a cautionary tale to those who are new to Dodge and Diesel (my first for both). The computer on the passenger side firewall is the PCM. There is another computer attached to the driver side of the block underneath the fuel filter/water separator that is the ECM. I was led to believe the PCM was the ECM and imagine my surprise when I found one on the block. I thought I was going insane for a bit.
Anyway... now that I was able to locate the correct wiring, my ECM is no longer putting out any power to either feed wire going to the lift pump. I'm going to install a relay temporarily to see if I can get the truck running. Unfortunately, I'm also pulling a p1688 which I've been told is a death sentence to the VP44 so it seems that may be getting replaced soon.
