Interchangeability of front brakes 2001 to 1997 ?
Hello,
I have three Dodge RAMs: 1997 1500 4WD, 2001 1500 2WD and 2001 1500 4WD.
Last august an idiot ran a red light and totaled my 2001 2WD that I just put in new brake rotors, pads, suspension, lots of other stuff. I would like to know if I could scavenge the almost new rotors/pads/calipers from the 2001 2 wheel drive one and put them in my 1997 4 wheel drive RAM ?
Would that work ?
Thanks for any advice.
Konrad

I have no clue. I watched when my mechanic installed them, but did not pay close attention. While I can install the calipers myself and complete the brake job, I am not a mechanic so I thought I would ask here people that are way, way more knowledgeable than me
I just looked on Amazon and it seems 1997 4WD is single piston and 2000-01 are dual piston
I guess maybe I will eventually use those on my 2001 4WD then.
