Question Truck bogs down when hot (normal temp, 200 degrees.

My truck runs fine until it gets to about 200 degrees for awhile and then it starts bogging down. On some days the truck runs fine the whole day and on other days when I have to take longer trips the truck starts bogging down most of the time and, it will recover and rev itself back up to where I can step on the gas and it will rev up for a few seconds then bog again. I had to drive home about 80 miles the other day and it was bogging so bad I had to drive on the shoulder the whole way home and with pulling over to let it cool down, it took about 4 hours to get home. Since it is not an always issue I am at a loss to what it could be. It has fuel air and spark. I finally got a check engine light to come on after it running so bad for about 8 hours straight . The code is for 02 sensor in bank 1. . I can post a video of it when it is idling and what it does if that helps.

Unplug the front O2 sensor, see if the problem goes away. (that WILL set codes.)

I will try that the next time that the issue presents itself. It doesn't happen all the time.

Check the fuel pressure when it's running bad.

That didn't work. Right after I unplugged it, my power steering went out. (The kind of luck I have.) I still took it for a small test drive and it was still doing the same BS.

What year, model and engine is in the truck? What mileage? Lastly, what was the actual code(s) that you the scanner pulled up?

System too lean. Check fuel pressure.

Why would the fuel pump lose pressure when the engine is under normal operating temperature?

With 245K mileage, the fuel pump could be going bad, but you will need to check the fuel pressure during the bad running time-frame to be sure.
