Default Lifting Engine

Im about to replace my engine mounts on an 01 1500 5.2l 4WD. What are the best points for bolting in a chain to lift the engine.

I think there are a couple bolt holes in the back of the heads, (yeah, fun to get to....) for the front, perhaps some of the bolts for the bracketry? I would use the intake bolts.... unless you put something longer/sturdier in to lift the engine. When I was doing the freeze plugs behind the motor mounts, (they had rusted out) I just put a board between the jack, and the oil pan, to lift the engine. Don't lift too far though, you'll damage the distributor.

If you have a reliable bottle or floor jack and a block of wood (to protect the oil pan and spread the load), you can jack up the motor under the oil pan. That should provide enough clearance to change the motor mount.
