Looking to move my IAT to my cold air intake. I have my drill bits and such for the hole but what size should it be and how close would I put it to the cone filter? Just any tips for this job
I believe the threads are 1/4" NPT, can I ask you goal result from this? I would expect the result to be a richer running engine, possibly o2 codes, higher fuel consumption, due to reading a cooler temp then what's entering the engine, so far as placement to the cone I would suggest as close to the intake valves as possible, somewhere around stock location?

so it’s not a good thing to do? I’m new and have been looking around. I have to move it eventually when I buy the Air Gap intake so I thought i’d get it out the way now.
my goal for the truck is performance oriented.
however I think it’s already somewhat rich, I installed a 180° thermostat. I can read the live data sometime tmr but I think it’s pulling fuel short term and same for long term fuel trim. I think.

The stock programming will tend to run the engine a bit rich while in open loop. That's what the O2 sensors are for though, to keep mixture ratio correct, so, pulling a bit of fuel is normal. If the numbers start getting into double digits though.... yeah, might wanna investigate that.

Sensor 2 always has truly high numbers for fuel trims. Of course, they don't really have very much, if any, influence on fueling. Sensor 2 is just to monitor the cat. That's it.
