Default Transmission code P0740

So I have a 1997 ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9 gas engine truck has 62111k miles on it and I just had a new transmission put in the truck in April this year ever since I got it back it keeps throwing error code P0740 and the shop keeps saying its a wiring issue when it's not cause whenever the code kicks the engine light on there's nothing wrong with the truck it still drives the same but the shop won't listen to me and wants to charge me 90$ an hour tell the problem is figured out but I have a 3 year warranty on the transmission if anyone knows why it's throwing the code oh and there's only 1500 miles on the new transmission

I myself would bring it back to the shop that replaced it. The code started after they did the work. There are electronics (solenoids) inside of the tranny.

Did you buy the trans from the shop that installed it? If not, then yeah, you have to pay for diagnosis, (or, at least, agree to...) until it is determined it is a warranty issue. If you bought the trans from somewhere else, call THEM, and have a chat.

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch, No RPM Drop @ Lockup
The pcm supply's a ground to the lockup solenoid after OD engages. You can do your own test and check if the wire/pin has a ground. This is what they will doto verify it is getting a ground. This will prove it's in the trans and not a wiring issue. Something you shouldn't have to do.

If you bought the trans from them, and they installed it, and you weren't getting the code before, then THEY are responsible for troubleshootings/repairing.
