Yes, the diagnostic tree is pretty much the same for the 0353 #3 circuit code as it is for the 0351 #1 circuit code I sampled for you.
I don't know where the idea of the pulse comes from. There is no pulse. The computer simply allows a ground to happen, then interrupts it to fire the coil. Been the same since the magneto days ended back when cars started carrying batteries around. Pretty sure.
If you will notice the tree tells you to measure the ASD voltage at the coil, primary resistance, wiring resistance and continuity, etc.
Like I said it is all about wiring, first, second, and third. Get your wiring diagram and trace the plumbing, you'll be able to figure it out.
The last thing on the tree is a defective PCM which is the first thing the parrots tell you to buy after they have you replace a perfectly good ignition coil.
Anyhow, good luck, you'll get it.

Send your generator code if you like. Can post that tree as well. The two could be related in a defective wiring harness sort of way. Dunno. I'm no electrical wizard and haven't met one in decades. Haven't spent any time looking at your wiring diagram. Nobody seems to have the familiarity that comes from day in and day out focus on auto electrical.
No matter what they post on a forum.

I traced it back to the pcm, spliced a wire directly from pcm to coil harness and still nothing.
