Oil pressure gage and light
Yall are gonna live this one, it's a 96 V10, and when I drive sometimes the gage goes completely down to 0,but the oil light doesn't come on, other times it will go up and down with the tack, it's got 146k on it, still runs strong, and has between 40 and 50 psi if I hook up a mechanical gage, is it time for a pressure switch or should I cut the gage out and mount a mechanical oil pressure gage in the dash board?

Can '96 do the self-check/gauge sweep?
That seemed to fix the issue here

Only can buss dash, 98 and up i believe. The oil pressure switch (looks like a potentiometer from the print) wiper is a ground, The pcm reads the other two terminals resistance . Since the light is not coming on i would think there is an issue with resistance reading on the one side of it.
