96 ram 1500 5.9 PLEASE HELP
I have a 96 5.9, to start from the beginning truck was fine only issue I had was sometimes you’d have to hit the gas when cranking up to get it to run. Driveshaft fell out and when it did ripped 4 wires out from the bottom, We took it took the shop & had it fixed. They also replaced “ecm”, u joint and yolk. 4k just for that. Then we had to tow it home, come to find out transfer case , & transmission was out so we replaced those. We’ve replaced Crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, pickup, tps, coil, cap, rotor, fuel regulator sensor, checked spark plugs, checked injectors, cleaned IAC valve, cleaned throttle bottle, changed the oil and filter. Now it will crank but idols rough in drive it’s like it loses power trying to accelerate. Will go into reverse and move no problem only a little bit rough idol. We have tried everything we can think of, we probably have replaced more than what I listed but that’s all I can think of right now. Open to any suggestions or ideas
also to add- when in drive the rpm gauge goes up and down then shuts off, and stalls but cranks right back up every time

How did you notice that? You can check codes by using the key dance. One is for the temp gauge and the other is for the pcm.
I then got a code for it, now I’m getting “po122 throttle / pedal position sensor/ switch a circuit low “
I’ve replaced the TPS not sure what that could be…

Check your pcv valve, They can stick open and cause issues. Was the plenum gasket ever done? What is the code #'s are you getting? After you change a part that threw a code you need to clear it. It won't go away on it's own. You may want to try resetting the pcm, Disconnect the battery overnight or touch the terminals together. This will clear the pcm and it will "relearn" the components.
For what it is worth. It is a long thread but, this is an issue I had and how the forum helped me fix it.
