Default Bell housing stamp numbers?

So i got my tranny out and it is marked 064-6

The replacement is marked 064-1.

What's going on here? Did i get sold the wrong transmission?

(a blizzard set in as i got it out and couldnt compare)

Googling suggests it is just a casting number.

Yeah, just a casting number, likely indicates WHEN it was cast.

Just getting things organized after we got hit by more snow but i noticed at least 1 small difference so far on a flange i think where one of the shift things bolts to.. Original is flat, new one has a keyway kind thing ground out. Hoping it warms up so i can do this thoroughly. I also want to clean up wires and lines.

Just wondering how difficult it is to swap the rubber boot at the end of the transfer case? I think im.keeping my tcase but new one has boot in better condition.

Default Torque converter mystery now.

Torque convertor also looks different. Having a hard time getting it seated as well but that might just be me.

**(edit: googling says i may have had the wrong tc in the truck before. Now i have a new mystery... my engine is a 96.... still externally balanced?)

The new transmission TC has a square weight on it. The new transmission has 92/93 date marks.

The old transmission has no extra square and is marked with 94 date.

360 is still externally balance, but, in 96, the weight moved from the torque converter, to the flexplate. See which flexplate you have, go from there.

I started a whole new post about this and think.it basically covers the questions here. Feel free to nuke this one. Lol
