Default Radiator Pet ****

I'm getting ready to flush the cooling system on my 1997 2500 5.9 and noticed the drain pet **** on the radiator is plastic. I'm a little concerned that the plastic might be brittle and break after so many years. Anyone had any issues on their 2nd Gen Ram?

I'd pull the lower hose. You'll probably break the petcock.

Another vote for the lower hose. The petcock is almost certainly going to self-destruct if you mess with it.

Plastic petcock in our 2005 jeep also. Its an o-ring on a twist lock kind of thing.

I've sustained more problems with metal ones seizing and breaking off.
