My 96 had a block off plate where the egr valve would normally go. And no provision in the passenger exhaust manifold for the EGR tube. Guess they had some leftover EGR manifolds to use up.

I thought they were not on the trucks for 3 or 4 years and then came back.

On the third gen trucks I think.... but, not on the magnum engines. 4.7, 5.7 might have had 'em, not sure.
