Default Break lights stay on, unknown green and white wire

I replaced my dash and bezel cover on my 99 dodge ram 1500 4x4. As y'all know when you replace the dash cover on these trucks you have to remove the entire dash. I was able to assemble everything back how it should be but I have 2 issues. Under the dash by where the fuse box is I have a green and white wire that I don’t remember where it goes. Also I’m not sure if this is a related issue but my brake lights stay on as if I were pressing the breaks. Even when the truck is turned off. Only way I can get the break lights to turn off is to disconnect the battery.

Probably gonna have to replace the brake switch. They self-ajdust at install, and after that, yer done.

You can download the factory service manual for your truck from here. Look in section 8W for connector locations, find the number of the connector in question there, then go to the connector pinout section to see what it actually does.

I think the wire goes to your parking brake assembly. If not, maybe horn or door switch. Its a ground control wire. Mines a 94 and i dont see that wire.

The brake switches can sometimes be readjusted. Ive seen both. If yours works but came out of adjustment (and cant be adjusted) you can use a piece of felt or a few layers of tape on end of switch to get it back to spec.
