Default Locked with Key Fob, Unlocked with key, now alarm won't turn off

Hi,

My daughter called me saying that she locked the truck with the key fob. She returned a couple hours later and the fob would not work. She then opened the door with the key. The alarm started going off and she couldn't turn it off using the fob because it was dead. She then pulled the horn fuse. She then tried to start it, which it did start, but then it shut down immediately. My guess is that if she replaces the key fob batter and disarms the system that will fix it. Is there another way to do this without needing the fob?

Other ideas? Thanks!

Update/more information: She was able to disarm the alarm by unlocking both the driver and passenger side doors and could then start it. So, then she locked it with the door button, ran an errand, then came back and unlocked it with the key and the horn started going off again! Again, she was able to unlock both doors with the key and the horn stopped. Do you need the key fob to disarm it completely? Thanks.

Theoretically, if you unlock the drivers door TWICE with the key, it turns off the alarm, might be the passenger door though....

Using the key to lock the door might arm it. I don't know. My truck doesn't have it.
