Shaking at 60 plus mph
I've got a 97 dodge ram 1500. When I'm going between 60 and 65 mph my truck will sort of shudder. I can count to 3 in between shudders but it's consistent until I either speed up or slow down. Just trying to figure out what the cause could be.
Is the truck 2WD or 4x4? Sounds like front wheel imbalance or mild death wobble. Try getting your front wheels re-balanced and see if it does better. Death wobble usually occurs due to wear in the front suspension parts (ball joints, hub bearing, tie rod ends, drag link, track bar, etc.). You can also jack up the front end, put two jack stands under each side of the front and have a helper turn the steering wheel while you get up under the truck and look for movement in any of the parts mentioned above.
does turning on overdrive fix it?
Had a similar issue- overdrive would immediately fix the shudder. Also experienced it at ~60mph. Mine was caused by a misfire on the 8th, which was caused by a blown plenum.
I had some boogered up bushings on my track bar and the death wobble was distinctly different than the shaking/shuttering I was experiencing from the misfire

If you haven't addressed the plenum issue yet maybe it's time.
